Why should I choose Campbell Christian School?
Campbell Christian school is a unique private school in that we can focus on spiritual and ethical reasoning while maintaining an emphasis on academic excellence.  We work extremely hard to make sure your child’s needs are met.  Additionally, we focus on building thinking skills in a wide variety of learners, so that your unique child can learn from the place they are at, not where society expects them to be.  This approach has helped us to score in the 83rd percentile (top 17%) in the nation on our standardized testing as a school average across all subjects.  This has also helped us to achieve the ultimate goal, having your child love school!

Are you accredited and what is it?
Accreditation is the process of self-study and improvement guided by a professional association that has unified standards of operation across all schools that bear its name as being accredited.  Campbell Christian Schools are accredited through the Association of Christian Schools International and the Western Association of Schools and Colleges.

Are your teachers credentialed?
All teachers and administrators must be credentialed through the Association of Christian Schools International.  Many of our teachers also hold Master's degrees as well as other teaching credentials from the State of California as well as other states.

How do you choose teachers?
We make sure our teachers are kind, professional educators who meet several criteria.  First, teachers must actively attend and financial support a local Christian church.  Second, teachers must have an exemplary work history that shows a pattern of consistency.  Finally, it is mandatory that the teachers at Campbell Christian School adhere to the mission, values, student handbook and employee polices, and expected school wide learning results as outlined in our parent student handbooks.

Where are you located?
Campbell Christian School is located in a quiet neighborhood in Campbell near Highway 17(880). The major cross street is Campbell Ave.  Our address is 1075 W. Campbell Ave., Campbell, CA 95008.   Click here to view directions.

How big are your classes
Our classes average ranges between 15 and 25.  Each class has access to enrichment activities including art, music, library, physical education, and computers.  Depending on the grade, students may participate in after school enrichment activities: Spanish, Mandarin, keyboard, guitar, musical theatre performances (extra fee).

What curriculum do you use and how do you choose it?
The curriculum varies by grade level and changes yearly.  Please contact the office if you are interested in which publishers we use.  As for how we choose the curriculum, we always keep in mind that the purpose of curriculum is to outline the instructional process and to provide a wide variety of learning experiences for the children.  Here at Campbell Christian School, we desire to take the curriculum and mold it to each individual child.  We realize each child learns differently, so we make sure to provide a wide range of learning resources for the teachers to use.  We take students of all abilities and help them to form a love of learning, an appreciation for God’s gifts, and a desire and ability to achieve.  Curriculum is chosen with input from the professionals, our qualified and caring teachers.
We meticulously screen the curriculum to ensure the concepts and lessons do not undermine our faith as Christians.  Additionally, the curriculum must provide a wide variety of activities, lessons, and resources to challenge each child.  Finally, the curriculum must exceed California State Academic Standards.

What sort of enrichment activities do you offer?
Please peruse the tabs at the top of the web page.  We offer enrichments for every elementary grade student including art, music, library, computers, chapel programs, and physical education programs.  Other programs are available such as extended care, summer program, Spanish, Mandarin, keyboard, and guitar on a per fee basis after school time.  Additional activities include musical theatre, overnight field trips in the fourth and fifth grade, two school concerts annually, and many Parent-Teacher Fellowship events such as the fall festival and family fellowship nights.

Do you offer discounts?
Yes.  We offer muti-child and prepayment discounts.

Multi-child Discount: The second child in a family receives a 10% discount, and a 15% discount is given for every child attending after the second.

Prepayment discount: There is a prepayment discount of 4% if the annual tuition is paid in full before September 1st and a 2% discount is given if biannual payment is paid in full before September 1st and January 1st.

How are you associated with local churches?
This school is an active ministry of the Campbell Church of Christ.  As a ministry of the church, we are housed on the church campus and share facilities with a wide variety of services, from parenting seminars to activities such as Kidz Clubs, a Christ-based activity time on Sunday nights.  Our students attend church at a wide variety of congregations.  For further information regarding our sponsoring church please click on the Campbell Church of Christ logo in the bottom left-hand corner of our home page.  For information regarding other local churches or if you are searching, please give us a call.

What is your discipline structure like?
Each teacher is required to have a written discipline plan listed inside their room.  Additionally, we require all of our teachers to have a positive reward system as well, and this ranges from homework passes to special theme days.  In all cases, we seek to involve parents as soon as behavior becomes a problem.  At that time, we work with parents, teachers, and administrators to make sure we all have a unified plan to help children behave and respond in a way that shows respect for themselves, their classmates, and adults.  In all cases, we seek to maintain proper respect for students, their parents, and the goals of the school.

Does your school have extended care?
Yes.  We have extended care daily from 7:00 AM to 7:45 AM and again starting at 3:00 PM and going till 6:00 PM.  Our extended care program is listed on this web site and has a homework time and guided activity time.  At this time, only enrolled elementary students are able to attend extended care.

Does your school have a summer program?
Yes.  CCS operates a 10 week long summer program.  Our summer program is open to current students as well as students from other schools.  Our summer program provides children with leisure activities such as swimming, guided activities, art for fun, theme days, and games.  Additionally, almost every Monday all of the students go on a fun or educational field trip.  Three days a week students are exposed to learning activities for roughly 3 hours; these activities are designed to maintain the knowledge learned during the prior school year.  Information is presented in a fun and hands-on manner.

Do you have a playground and/or grass area?
Campbell Christian School has five separated play areas.  In 2006-2007 we invested $130,000 to improve our playground structures. One play area is designated for the preschool and has a sand area, age-appropiate play structures and tri-cycles. The second area is smaller enclosed grassy area. A third enclosed area has a play structure designed for children ages 5-12. A fourth enclosed area has a play structure designed for children ages 2-12. Finally, we lease a large grass area from Moreland school district, providing us with athletic fields. Altogether, our school has a vast playground and recreational area.

How do we pay?
Tuition for elementary can be paid on a 12 month basis (June 1st through May 1st), 9 month basis (September 1st through May 1st), biannually (September 1st and January 1st, 2% discount), or annual basis (September 1st, 4% discount).  Tuition for preschool can also be paid on a monthly basis, biannual, and annual with the same discounts.  Due to the nature of preschool, tuition will be calculated for summer and fall, as enrollment will change be season.  Please call the school office for more information.  Payment can be in the form of cash or check.  Statements are sent out at the end of each month.

How do I inquire about openings?
You can email us or call us regarding openings.  Openings may change daily, and it is best to inquire as soon as possible if you are interested.  Open enrollment for the next school year begins in February for elementary and preschool and April 1st for preschool and elementary summer programs.

How often does tuition change?
The majority of operating needs are met through tuition and fees.  These fees are adjusted annually based on the needs to meet operating expenses.  Typical increases of around 5% should be expected; however, tuition increases may vary lower or higher based on economic and environmental factors.

What other charges should we expect?
Each family should expect a yearly enrollment fee, consistent with other private schools in the area.  Additional fees for extended care, summer program, and after school enrichment programs will be charged, but as optional programs it is your choice whether or not to sign up for such programs.  Parents will be given a supply list during the summer outlining what students need to supply for themselves.  For examples, please look on the grade level web pages.  Hot lunches are also provided for an extra cost; or your students may decide to bring a lunch from home.

Do you have tuition assistance?
CCS does have a tuition assistance program.  This program is limited to a maximum of 50% tuition assistance.  Only 10% of the student body may be on tuition assistance at any one time, and this program’s assistance is based on financial need.  In order to qualify for tuition assistance, a student must have attended a Campbell Christian School program for at least one year and be currently enrolled in our elementary program.  No tuition assistance is given for infant, toddler, or preschool ages.  Tuition assistance for infant, toddler, and preschool can sometimes be obtained from other non-profit agencies such as Choices for Children and the 4c Council.

How do I apply?
For infant, toddler, and preschool care, please contact the preschool office to setup a tour. Application requirements will be explained during this time.  For elementary, we typically require a current report card and any standardized testing results.  For grades kindergarten and first, we require developmental testing, titled the “kindergarten or first grade game.”  Grades 2-5 may need to have a portion of the Stanford Achievement Test given.  This will be decided on a case by case basis.
Are books included in the tuition?
Yes, everything is included in the tuition except for the enrollment fee.
