CCS Field Trips

At Campbell Christian School we believe that field trips are an important component of a well rounded education.  Field trips are hands-on educational experiences and opportunities to supplement teaching activities in the classroom.  Each class page lists the field trips they take.  These trips are subject to change, but they give you a general description of where the children go.

Fourth and Fifth graders attend overnight field trips.  Fourth grade attends a California history field trip in gold country, near Sacramento, where they camp and actually learn how to pan for gold.  This is a two day long field trip.  Fourth graders also take a day long trip on an Amtrak train to Sacramento and tour history museums and the state capital.

Fifth graders attend a week long science camp in the fall.  This field trip is in the mountains near Fresno at a Christian camp called Hume Lake.  Fifth graders also have an overnight fellowship trip to Daybreak Camp near Felton followed by a graduation trip to the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk.

Chaperones are needed for all field trips, and they give parents an opportunity to spend time with their child’s class.  Space can be limited, so if you are interested, please contact your child’s teacher as soon as possible.
