Campbell Christian Schools is a ministry of the Campbell Church of Christ. The church and school share classrooms, activities and ministry opportunities on almost 5 acres of land. Together we provide a well rounded education and supportive spiritual community for students and families.
The Children’s Ministry at church, headed by Garry Bortz, is an especially rich resource for school families. Our philosophy is that kids and parents need some time together as well as opportunities to belong and learn on their own level. Thus, infants – 4 year olds are welcome to be with their parents in the 8:30 & 11:15 am worship times on Sunday, BUT continuous care is also available.
It is important for children to connect with the whole church and learn from the modeling of their parents and other adults, so kids age 5 – 3rd grade stay with their parents for the first 30 minutes of worship in song and communion, but can then go to the children’s church program known as Hug Haven. 4th & 5th graders are welcome in Hug Haven as “Power Kids” where they serve as junior helpers.
There are Bible classes for all ages at 10:00 am on Sunday. This is a great time for parents and kids to find a place of belonging with peers. For parents there is either “Parent’s Connection” or “Fusion”. Both groups welcome couples and singles offering support, belonging and growing experiences.
Other opportunities are Enter:ACT where kids and parents participate in interactive worship and learning activities on subjects like “respect,” “honesty,” “forgiveness.” There are family activities such as concerts, movie and game nights which are great for sharing time with your kids and getting to know other families.
Time Out for parents happens on the last Friday of the month during the school year. It’s free child care for stay-at-home parents giving you a break to refresh yourself so you can be your best for your kids.
MOPS (Mothers of Preschoolers) and Men’s Fraternity are great places for moms and dads to connect, support each other and be challenged to grow.
The church’s “Youth and Family” ministry continues such opportunities for families with older children. See The Zone area of the church website. Matthew Humphreys is the Youth and Family minister.
Ken McAlpin serves as the worship minister and Randy Hall as the preaching minister of the church. All ministers are available to answer questions or talk with you. Check out the church website for online sermons and information about other events.
