Mrs. Sunny Ahrens began her teaching tenure at Campbell Christian School in 2004. She holds a Bachelor’s of Music degree specializing in Music Education from the Hartt School of Music in Connecticut. Mrs. Ahrens is a seasoned veteran with experience teaching vocal and instrument ensembles for pre-K through eighth grade. We are very excited about the musical background and expertise she brings to CCS.
Mrs. Celeste Gaither teaches P.E. for grades 4-8 and the Athletic Director. She has a Bachelor of Science degree from San Jose University. She is a NASM certified personal trainer and youth exercise specialist. She joined our staff after years of active parent involvement, including PTF president/treasurer, Scrip Coordinator, and Crab Feed co-chair. Her sons began attending CCS preschool in 2005. She is excited to share her love of health and fitness with the students.
Mrs. Paty Gonda-Sayre teaches 7th and 8th grade Spanish. She was born in Mexico City, and was educated in a bilingual school until the age of 16. She is fluent in both Spanish language and culture. She has a Bachelor of Arts in Clinical Psychology and a Master’s Degree in Clinical Social Work, with over 15 years of experience. Her teaching experience of 16 years encompasses a large age range (K-12), mainly in the forms of individual tutoring and small group courses in a variety of subjects and settings. Mrs. Sayre has two adult children, one a published author, the other a Mechanical Engineer. She and her family have been long time members of the Campbell Church of Christ.
Mr. Jason Hansen teaches Pre-Algebra, Algebra, Bible, Journalism, and Servant Leadership classes in the Junior High at CCS. Mr. Hansen has been a member of the Church of Christ his entire life and currently attends Central Church of Christ with his wife Janelle. They actively search for ways to respond to God’s calling of service as they teach and mentor the youth at their church to help them develop a firm foundation in the Bible. Mr. Hansen graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Mathematics and Multiple Subject Teaching Credential from San Jose State University. Professionally, he has taught Kindergarten, 1st, 3rd, and 5th-7th grade in both public and private schools, while teaching Preschool through 12th grade at his church and as a private tutor. He has also served as the Extended Care Director at CCS for the past two years. Mr. Hansen and his wife enjoy singing, going to the theater, camping, and spending time with family and friends. He is excited to share his love for the Lord with students and parents at CCS.
Mrs. Catherine Hickinbotham joined the CCS staff as our librarian in 2005. Previously, Mrs. Hickinbotham worked as a teacher's aide in our preschool and as a substitute teacher in the Elementary School. Mrs. Hickinbotham has a degree in Liberal Studies from San Jose State University. She has a love for children as well as the hope that the students of CCS will become independent, life-long readers. Her daughter attends CCS and her son is a graduate.
Mrs. Stephanie Jordan grew up in a family of educators and decided that teaching was a passion of hers.She received an AA in Early Education as well as a BA in Liberal Studies from Cal State Hayward. She continued her education at Notre Dame de Namur in Belmont, CA earning her Masters is in Education with a Minor in Curriculum & Instruction and Multiple Subject Credential. Stephanie was previously teaching for 13 years within the Diocese of San Jose and can not see herself not working with children. Throughout her years in the classroom, she felt called to work with junior high students. Here at Campbell Christian she teaches English Language Arts for 7th and 8th grade, Math for 6th and 7th grades, STEAM, and World Cultures. Stephanie is also a proud mother to three lovely, energetic boys. Her twins, Kyle and Michael are 6 and her youngest, Thomas, is 3. The Jordan's are always active and they wouldn't change a thing!
Mrs. Rhonda Jose began teaching at CCS in 1999 and brings an enthusiasm and sense of humor to our school and art education program. She graduated from California State University in Chico with a degree in Social Sciences. Both of her children are graduates of CCS. She continues to inspire and challenge her students, creating a dynamic and fun art education program for CCS.
Miss Vanessa Long graduated on Honor Roll from Lipscomb University in 2011. She completed her Multiple Subjects in December 2015. She has worked with Embark Labs to teach students from Kindergarten through High School about computer programming and coding. Vanessa's interests include running, graphic design, and all things Star Wars. She is excited to be teaching computers at CCS and hopes the students will share her passion for technology.
Mrs. Melissa Podczaszy was born in Baltimore, Maryland and moved to California during her college years. After graduating from California State University, Long Beach with her BA in History and her Social Science teaching credentials. Melissa began teaching junior high students in California's Central Valley area, and she started a theater program for the school district she worked for. After several years, her husband Jeremiah, received a job working for a San Jose school and Melissa received a theater teaching and directing job at The King's Academy. Now at CCS she teaches 6th grade Bible, History for 6th-8th grade and theater. She loves being a part of the same nurturing community as her daughter Ellie.
Mr. Jordan Smith teaches Science, Pre-Algebra as well as a Digital Media elective. He holds a Masters of Science in Forensic Science from the Ecole des Sciences Criminelles in Lausanne, Switzerland and has been teaching Mathematics at the International School of Geneva, where he was also a member of the Learning Support Program that cared for SEN students. He and his wife, Annie, one of our 4th grade teachers, have just moved to Campbell from Switzerland and attend the Campbell Church of Christ. Mr. Smith is very excited to have the privilege of teaching Science from a Christ-centered and focused worldview and hopes to help his students come to further appreciate the majesty of God through the study of His creation and the laws and principles that hold them together. Mr. Smith is an avid reader of fantasy novels, enjoys table-top miniature games, obscure card games and playing board games with his wife.
