Enrichment Teachers
Ms. Lisa Ohashi received her BA from San Jose State University with a major in
Liberal Studies and minor in Math. Ms. Ohashi has taught at various public and private schools
across the Bay Area, emphasizing teaching Technology, Religion, and Math. Her teaching style is
to answer the “whys” about why students are learning subject material. Ms. Ohashi encourages
her students to embrace learning, foster a love of knowledge and to let their light shine. In her
free time, Ms. Ohashi loves traveling to see her family and enjoys anything Lego, Star Wars and
her red Swingline stapler.
Mrs. Bora Im, a native of Korea, began studying piano and composition at age 3 influenced by her parents who were both musicians. She was one of the top music students at Ewha Women’s University in Seoul in 2004. The following year, she and her family moved to the U.S. where she completed her Bachelor of Music degree (magna cum laude) at the University of North Texas. After winning the North American World Scholarship from the Berklee College of Music in Boston, she broadened her classical composition and performance skills to include Film Scoring and Jazz/MIDI Studies while working on a Professional Diploma. While studying in Boston, she worked as an assistant at the Professional Writing Center where Berklee students study and develop computer music. As a pastor's wife, she earned her master of arts degree at Fuller Theological Seminary emphasizing Worship and Music Ministry to help her husband's ministry and serve the church and local community. Bora has had a variety of teaching experiences. She has taught piano at many top music academies in the DFW area and has been an excellent music theory teacher to college-level students from the University of North Texas, Berklee College of Music, Southern Methodist University, New England Conservatory, and Indiana University. She is excited to join the Campbell Christian School teaching staff as a music teacher to continue her commitment to music education.
Mrs. Paty Gonda-Sayre teaches 6th, 7th and 8th grade Spanish. She was born in Mexico City, and was educated in a bilingual school until the age of 16. She is fluent in both Spanish language and culture. She has a Bachelor of Arts in Clinical Psychology and a Master’s Degree in Clinical Social Work, with over 15 years of experience. Her teaching experience of 16 years encompasses a large age range (K-12), mainly in the forms of individual tutoring and small group courses in a variety of subjects and settings. Mrs. Sayre has two adult children, one a published author, the other a Mechanical Engineer. She has been a long time member of the Campbell Church of Christ.
Mrs. Catherine Hickinbotham joined the CCS staff as our librarian in 2005. Previously, Mrs. Hickinbotham worked as a teacher's aide in our preschool and as a substitute teacher in the Elementary School. Mrs. Hickinbotham has a degree in Liberal Studies from San Jose State University. She has a love for children as well as the hope that the students of CCS will become independent, life-long readers. Both of her children attended CCS.
Mrs. Rhonda Jose began teaching at CCS in 1999 and brings an enthusiasm and sense of humor to our school and art education program. She graduated from California State University in Chico with a degree in Social Sciences. Both of her children are graduates of CCS. She continues to inspire and challenge her students, creating a dynamic and fun art education program for CCS.
Mr. Brian Kaewkan attended Cal State East Bay where he received my bachelor's degree in Kinesiology and emphasized physical education. He taught second grade for a year at Campbell Christian before changing subjects to physical education. His focus is to build a solid foundation for physical development so students can understand the importance of exercising and how to use our bodies properly in any physical activity. He enjoys spending time with family and staying active. His favorite sport to play in my free time is basketball and his favorite team to watch is the Golden State Warriors.
Mrs. Celeste Gaither teaches P.E. for grades 4-8 and is the Athletic Director. She has a Bachelor of Science degree from San Jose University. She is a NASM certified personal trainer and youth exercise specialist. She joined our staff after years of active parent involvement, including PTF president/treasurer, Scrip Coordinator, and Crab Feed co-chair. Her sons began attending CCS preschool in 2005. She is excited to share her love of health and fitness with the students.
